The short-term rental market is highly competitive, and the quality of photos often makes all the difference. It is from this observation that I created KEEPYOBREAD. An intelligent web application that instantly transforms your real estate photos into professional images using AI. After testing different approaches, I developed a system that scrupulously preserves the reality of the places while enhancing their visual appearance. My goal was simple: to allow property owners to improve their booking rates without having to invest in a professional photographer or expensive equipment.
The challenge
The main challenge of KEEPYOBREAD lay in optimizing storage and integrating the OpenAI GPT-Image-1 API. The early versions stored images in base64 directly in the database, which severely limited performance and scalability. We had to completely rethink the architecture to use Supabase storage while ensuring efficient image processing through Edge Functions.
Another major challenge: designing an ultra-intuitive interface for users who are often not very technical. Property owners, sometimes of a certain age, needed a user journey simplified as much as possible, without compromising on advanced features. We also developed a sophisticated queuing system to manage usage spikes, and created a unique branding to stand out in an increasingly saturated market of generic AI tools.
The complete translation of the application into English and SEO optimization with an automated blog constituted the final crucial steps to prepare for a global deployment, all while ensuring compliance with OpenAI's API limits and optimizing user credit management.
The solution
KEEPYOBREAD is the result of an intensive development of just three weeks, but it builds on months of research in AI applied to real estate. Our beta testers have been unanimous: "My photos are now on par with premium listings," shares Michel, owner of three apartments in Nice. "I saw my inquiries increase by 40% from the very first week." I have integrated a flexible credit system that allows users to test the tool for free before opting for a plan that suits their needs. The conversion rate of free users to paid plans already exceeds 8% during our pre-launch tests.
